Online Poker News The Mini UBOC 5

All right, you just read my post on the UBOC, right? If you didn’t, just pop over here to the The UBOC 5
Good, now you’re up to speed on the UBOC 5 or the Ultimate Bet Online Championship and know that the buy ins for the event are running $100 to $1,000. So, this post is for those of us who saw those numbers, checked our bank accounts and said “umm, I’ll sit this one out.”  Ultimate Bet was prepared for that.  Which is why during the same August 18th through August 29th period, they run the Mini-UBOC.
The schedule of the Mini-UBOC mirrors the big event, but the buy ins are significantly smaller.  Events run as low as $10 + $1, though most run in the $20 + $2 to $30 + $3 range.  The most expensive buy in is for the Mini-UBOC 20 Championship MONSTER STACK NLH, the final event. That one will run you $50 + $5.  That event also has  $50K guarantee prize.  Most of the prize pools will run from $10K to $20K, though there are some small prize pools out there.  You check the schedule on UB.com for a list of events, buy ins, prizes and hosts for each event.
The Mini-UBOC 5 isn’t drawing names like Phil Hellmuth or Annie Duke as hosts, but they’ll have some great players on hand to host. And the 20 event champions for the UBOC will also win a Championship watch to show that they rule the virtual felt.
